The American cockroach is one of the largest common roaches — often called a "palmetto bug" in Florida — and prefers warm, damp environments like drains, sewers, and moist crawl spaces before moving indoors in search of food and water.
They're strong fliers and fast runners, and a heavy presence outdoors often means they're finding easy entry points into the home.
Signs You May Have American Cockroach
- Large (1.5–2 inch), reddish-brown roaches, often near drains or moisture
- Dark, cylindrical droppings resembling coffee grounds
- An oily, musty odor in infested areas
- Egg cases (oothecae) tucked into cracks or behind appliances
Our Treatment Approach
We treat interior harborage areas and exterior perimeter zones — drains, mulch beds, and foundation gaps — where American cockroaches typically enter and hide, combined with a barrier treatment to reduce pressure from outdoor populations.
